Who would have thought that the beautiful wood on this table was stomped on by workmen's boots? Yes, the wood used on this table - and indeed many of our tables - was actually a scaffolding board in it's former and some what, miserable life!
Here at Markhams we like to not only restore old to it's former glory but to inject beauty into something that would have ordinarily been overlooked. We would like to share with you a snapshot of the process we go through to produce this stunning table.
It starts with carefully selecting the right boards, were looking for straight and true boards with just the right amount of character...
We then joint these boards together and they go through the lengthy and important process of sanding and finishing, which includes applying 3 coats of a durable hard wax oil.
The 'X' Legs are fabricated and then sanded, lacquered and fixed to form our gorgeous 'X' leg table and benches.
AND THEN END RESULT IS JUST BEAUTIFUL
